I wanna be a writer, and I'm majoring in English, need advice...please!!!?

I'd start out trying to get an internship the summer after your freshman year. it never hurts to start early. Keep your grades up as well because it may be harder to get an internship with average marks. Also, try making connections within the writing community. Although you don't really need to go to college to be a writer, I'm afraid. Technical is a completely different animal anyway.
