Stopping minocycline or switching birth control?

Ive been taking minocycline for over a year now & I want to stop it because of the prolonged affects of antibiotics, but I recently just stopped for a week and got breakouts on my face back shoulders neck & chest. So I started taking it again this morning. My minocycline interferes with the effectiveness of my birth control (Loestrin 24). I was wondering if it would be better to see if my dermatologist can switch my medicine to something that isn't antibiotics or atleast something that won't affect my birth control, or if I should go to my gyno & have them switch birth control. The minocycline seems to be working, but I still would rather stop taking the antibiotic.
