How beautiful are "Pine Trees" really? and what do people in Britain think of this type of tree?
Pine trees or Coniferous Trees to be more precise are found all across the British Isles. There are numerous types from miniature varieties suitable for rock gardens to trees like the Douglas Fir. They are evergreen that is that they keep their leaves (usually needles though there is a variety Ginkgo which has a more traditional type leaf look up Maidenhair Tree) throughout the winter. There are other varieties such as Sequoia sequoia or better known as the giant Red wood which are truly impressive. We live in Suffolk and Pine Trees are the most dominate type of tree, they are fine, they have some advantages over other trees especially on a commercial basis for timber production. As for beauty, that may be to subjective, personally I am not a fan of Leylandii but there are thousands of others that are just fantastic. A pine tree is not just for Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!
