Heavy bleeding after Colposcopy?

I had my colp done 2 Mondays ago. I had the normal bleeding I was expecting that week to get rid of the saline solution and other junk they put in. I then stopped bleeding after a few days and was glad it was over with. All of a sudden this week I have started bleeding again. This time it is bright red (like when you begin your period color). I am not supposed to have my period until another week (I am on the pill so I know when it is coming). I also have been having some minor cramping. The flow is starting to get heavier as the days progress I think. I am going to see the gyno on the 30th because I have to now get a LEEP done due to bad colp results. However, I am worried this may be something serious and should see a doctor ASAP. Any advice? Thanks!
