Should congress be embarassed by their new "light bulb" regulation? Bulbs go from 25 cents to $50?

The article is a bit deceiving because the law doesn't require $50 led bulbs, just high efficiency bulbs. Compact florescents at about $1 meet the requirement and since they last for years and use very little electricity compared to incandescent bulbs the actually cost less with a very fast pay back period. Their cost will probably drop to well under $1 when their use becomes mandatory. I've been using them for quite a few years already. In my opinion it's actually foolish to use a standard incandescent.
